Hello!
My name is Charlie and I am a dog trainer from the Wirral, UK.
I have 4 years of experience with dogs, and currently, I am working towards qualified status by training with The IMDT (The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers)
I live on the Wirral with my Canadian husband, Steve, and our 1 year old black lab, Remy!
Since childhood I have wanted to work with animals. For 18 months I was a stablehand and absolutely loved it, but then got pulled in a different direction and pursued a career in film/photography and then marketing. Now here we are!
My first dog, Indy inspired me to seriously pursue this career- he was a rescue from Cyprus and devastatingly had many physical and mental issues, resulting in his life being cut too short.
We naively thought we were in for the classic ‘Disney dog’ experience. How wrong we were! He taught me so much about dog behaviour, nutrition, training, how to fully understand a dog’s body language. I could read him better than I can read human beings, I became fully in tune with him. Every mood, every look, trigger, I knew what made him tick, what made him angry or scared. Our bond was unique and it took a while, but it was so worth it. He was absolutely meant to be our dog.
My long term goal is to help rehabilitate dogs like Indy, help them find their feet in life & show them that there is good in the world, and they can get help. Equally I want to contribute to raising awareness for positive reinforcement training methods, because I believe every dog should be treated with respect and with kindness. You don’t need to use force or be unkind to any animal.
My Mission
To help people understand their dogs as they would another human. To strengthen the bond between you and your dog(s) and create your own unique language. To help you and your dog thrive in life together, not just get by! To show the amazing things possible in dog training with kindness and compassion over force and fear.
I am Canine First Aid Trained and am fully insured (including to work with XL Bully’s).
